In communities that lack adequate resources poverty can pass from generation to generation. Unemployment/underemployment, unequal distribution of resources, insufficient educational opportunities, limited work and health supports, along with the trauma associated with poverty make it difficult to break these generational cycles. In addition, a lack of safe affordable housing disproportionately affects low-income households, leaving families and children stuck in this cycle of poverty. Women of Harmony Inc. serves as a conduit to help break these cycles through our scholarship program, empowerment classes and initiatives.
